Hi Brian,

I’m currently working on a project related to digital medical/hospital software and am looking for a co-author and co-PI to collaborate on a grant proposal submission. Would you happen to know where I can make such a request or find potential collaborators?

Thank you!

Good catch, @evartsb the DNA Damage mtg may have ended, not on my calendar either

There’s a chance it’s been going on so long, the “end” was reached 😅

Hi all! I am new to AWG as a citizen scientist and wanted to get into DNA Damage project as I find it really cool! I am starting at the slides and checking the data too, is this a fine way to start the project @evartsb? Which resource should I go through to understand the project better?

Hello @evartsb and team,

Thank you for this excellent project and for making the OSD-366 dataset available!

I successfully used the data to train a Deep Learning model (CNN) in Google Colab. The objective was to classify the images with `X-ray` vs. `Fe` damage.

The results were very promising! The model achieved a validation accuracy of **nearly 80%** and showed a good ability to differentiate between the two classes.

Welcome to the team @Medeiros and nice job! There are definitely some nuances to this dataset that once addressed may help further improve your scores. Are you available to come to the team meeting on Wed Nov 12 at 12 PM ET? The invite is on the AWG Meeting Calendar. Please join us to discuss possible next steps!

Thanks,

Brian

Unsure how much this is squarely relevant to this subgroups status (iirc you already are in manuscript mode), but perhaps the DNA Damage group may want to look at this new open source MCP framework for image processing:

>
> Adapting production-level computer vision tools to bespoke scientific datasets is a critical "last mile" bottleneck. Current solutions are impractical: fine-tuning requires large annotated datasets scientists often lack, while manual code adaptation...

Hi @evartsb and team..

I’ve been following this project and went through the data and earlier work shared here. I’ve worked on similar microscopy image problems before, including classification, detection, and segmentation..

If the project is still moving, I’d be happy to help and contribute in any useful way…Please let me know if it would be okay for me to join.

Quick question: do we only include data from the five inbred mice (C57/BL6J, etc.) or do we also include that data from the 10 collaborative cross strains?
