Introduction – Lakshitha Manivannane | Bioinformatics undergrad Student

Hi everyone! I’m Lakshitha, a second-year B.Tech Bioinformatics student from SIMATS, India.

I’m interested in bioinformatics, computational biology, AI/ML, multi-omics, drug discovery, structural bioinformatics, and disease research.

My current skills include Python, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, basic machine learning, Biopython, FASTA/sequence analysis, BLAST, and working with resources such as NCBI and UniProt. I also have some exposure to protein structure analysis, molecular docking, and cheminformatics.

I’ve joined the AI/ML AWG and Multi-Omics AWG, and I’m particularly interested in projects that combine biological data with machine learning to study disease mechanisms, genomics, and other complex biological systems.

I’m looking forward to learning from everyone here, contributing to projects, and collaborating with others in the community.

Excited to be part of the Discovery Hub!

Thats great! Make sure to spend time looking at all the data, tools to come up with new investigations. Looking at previous studies to also quite useful too cheers.
