Thank you again to everyone who joined or expressed interest in the SPOKE group.
For our first meeting, we focused on introducing SPOKE as a hypothesis-generating tool and discussing how it can help us explore possible research questions in spaceflight biology. We are not locked into one specific project direction yet. The goal right now is to explore different biological systems and identify questions that people are genuinely interested in.
Possible areas include immune changes, gut/microbiome, metabolism/liver, brain and nervous system, bone/muscle, oxidative stress, aging-related pathways, or any other spaceflight-related system that seems interesting.
I created a shared tracker where everyone can add their name, interest area, possible research question, SPOKE search terms, genes/pathways/nodes, datasets or OSDR IDs, and early findings.
