I have a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and postdoctoral training from the University of Washington in Seattle. My research was focused on innate immune responses to viral infection. After surviving a stroke in 2010, I switched from wet lab research to computational biology and continued work in academia and biotech settings. I had to go on disability in 2025 but see this as a great opportunity to stay involved in science.
