My name is Lorennis Reyes currently, I study Data Science at INTEC (instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo).

A little about me; i have developed in areas such as applied science, design, control and data analysis, but also in leadership, project management and scientific dissemination. I firmly believe that knowledge should be shared, that’s why I dedicate myself to bringing STEM activities to schools in vulnerable communities, inspiring the next generation of scientists in the country.

My goals are clear: I want to use data science to solve real problems. In the short term, I am working on the design of an early warning system for extreme weather events, focussed on protecting vulnerable agricultural areas of my country. In the long term, I want to integrate into institutions such as NASA or Blue Origin, where I can unite technology, science and social commitment to positively impact the world.

I consider myself a disciplined, resilient person and very committed to my ideals. Challenges don’t stop me, on the contrary, they motivate me to improve myself. I know that my skills in programming, data analysis, leadership and communication are key tools to make my dreams come true, but I also know that I still have a lot to learn.

That is why every training opportunity, like this scholarship, represents for me much more than an academic benefit: it is an open door to build a fairer, more innovative and more humane future, not only for me, but for an entire community that hopes to be part of the change.
