Meghana

I am a 4th year Ph.D. candidate in Biochemistry at Arizona State University, with a master’s degree in Biomedical and Bioengineering and a bachelor’s in Biotechnology Engineering. My research focuses on insulin signaling pathways in corals, bridging environmental resilience with human metabolic diseases like diabetes and retinitis pigmentosa—a novel field I term coral pharmacology (Murthy et al., 2024, PeerJ). This interdisciplinary work has allowed me to explore uncharted scientific territory, contributing to my passion for investigating underexplored biological systems and their relevance to human health. My interests are: human health, insulin signaling in model and non-model organisms and metabolic function of organisms in underwater, land and space.
