Rie
I am a business operations and technology professional based in Japan, with experience in process improvement, automation, data-driven operations, international business, and the manufacturing sector. My work has included Google-related technologies and cross-cultural projects across Japan, Thailand, and Italy.
Outside of my professional career, my path has been a little less conventional. While exploring patterns in nature — including my fascination with the Fibonacci sequence — I somehow ended up becoming an elephant mahout and spending time living with hill tribe communities in the mountains of northern Thailand. What began as curiosity about nature grew into a lasting interest in animals, human-environment relationships, and how different forms of knowledge can intersect.
I am particularly interested in AI/ML, data analysis, open science, animal-related research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Through the OSDR Analysis Working Groups, I hope to learn from the community while contributing my experience in workflow design, automation, data-driven problem solving, and project coordination.
I am currently a member of the AI/ML, Animal, and Spaceflight Epidemiology AWGs.
