Great to meet you! I am a current third year medical student at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, a commissioned officer of the US Air Force, and a co-founder of Seeds of Ngima. I have a diverse set of academic interests, including linguistics, refugee health, paleontology, and neurology.
My BA was in Global Public Health at the University of Virginia. Most of my work following graduation has been in global health and development as well as education. My main project was as International Director of Sagrema Foundation, which led to the construction of a health clinic on Mfangano Island, Kenya. Since then, I have taught in a number of capacities and volunteered through various organizations, including Team Rubicon for disaster relief. At the University of Rochester, I am currently the Co-Director of the Rochester Human Rights Initiative, a clinic focused on asylum and migration health. I have also had extensive travel experience (to over 150 countries) and been involved in eclectic projects around the world.
After medical school, I will be training as a family medicine physician in the US Air Force and likely be involved in aerospace medicine. Within OSDR, I am particularly interested in the impacts of space travel on human health (Brain, Female Repro, Human AWGs), as well as systems to promote preventive care for space travelers (CDSS within AI/ML AWG). While I do not have a lot of concrete research experiences, I hope my diverse background will provide new perspectives and help further the mission of OSDR.
