I’m a young scientist from México, passionate for Omics science, specially Genomics.

Currently taking a bachelor’s degree on Veterinary Medicine (last semester) at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.

Even though my education is focused on medicine, I started on bioinformatics on my own, using resources like CS50-P to learn python as my main language to code. Now I’m taking courses to learn R as my second language. The usage of UNIX based systems and Git was the first thing I learned to get into informatics. I’ve processed a small bacteria genome taken from the NCBI data base, using python libraries like pandas to get the DNA sequences associated with virulence factors.

As we say in veterinary medicine:

“We never stop being students”

And that’s my philosophy. I’m still learning bioinformatics to get into Genomics world!
