Dear Multi-Omics AWG Members @MultiOmicsAWG,
For those who attended today’s meeting, thank you for your participation and insights.
Attached are the slides presented, and here is the recording of the session for anyone who couldn’t attend: AWG multi-omics December meeting-2024.pdf - Google Drive.
We had an excellent presentation from the ESA Hackathon top scorers, Sergio Garcia Busto (sg2170@cam.ac.uk) and Kalyan Ghadiyaram (kalyanghadiyaram@gmail.com), who were mentored by Pedro Madigel (pmb59@cam.ac.uk) and Ruben Perez-Carrasco (r.perez-carrasco@imperial.ac.uk). Their work was truly impressive! Rreach out to them if you’re interested in collaborating!
We also had a great discussion with Jennifer Claudio (Jennifer.claudio@bmsis.org) @Jennifer_Claudio about the GeneLab for High School Students program. They are currently looking for high school teachers to participate in the program, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to her if you have any recommendations or connections.
Next Meeting:
Our next meeting will take place on January 15th at 11:00 AM US EDT. If anyone is interested in presenting their work or sharing updates on their ongoing projects, please let Afshin know.
Global Certificate Program in Space Biomedicine:
This program is being launched through the University of Pittsburgh and aims to create a cross-institutional and global education initiative. It will encompass student exchanges, joint seminars, an integrated curriculum, and faculty co-teaching among participating institutions, with Pitt serving as the central hub.
If your institution is interested in collaborating, please let me know so I can add you to the list of participants. This program represents a unique opportunity to expand the reach and impact of space biomedicine research and education on a global scale, and I would love to have as many AWG members involved as possible.
Once again, thank you for all that you do to support this community and advance the field of space biomedicine
Happy holidays and happy new year!
Best,
Afshin @AfshinBeheshti
