Our next Oral Microbiome Subgroup Monthly Meeting will be on Tuesday, November 12th at 19:00 CET / 10:00 PT. This meeting will occur every 2nd Tuesday of the month until July 8th.
Hi @DirkNeefs and @jonathon_baker,
Thank you for opening up the opportunity to collaborate on the Mars Leuven mission that Yifan Hu presented.
Since most of the current focus is on bacteria, @guliz and I would be interested in exploring any viral data that is obtained and explore their respective diversity and evolutionary patterns.
Thank you, Nidia! I’m eager to contribute in the best way possible to support our shared goals. I’m particularly interested in the literature review and discussion on the effects of pre-existing — possibly hindered — viral infections on microbiome composition and the innate immunity of the test subjects, as well as any necessary analyses.
@nidiatrovao We mentioned it might be helpful to have a oral microbiome scoping doc similar to the other micro awg sub-groups. Not necessarily for publication (we didn’t discuss good niche), but useful to help productive feed-in. Maybe this could help as a primer?
This looks great, @nicholas.brereton! Thank you for putting this together and sharing. I think it will help facilitate discussion during the next meeting.
Hi - just on my university google drive (do you have access?). It was just a primer really so do grab the document for revision and then maybe share on a sub-group drive? Annex 1 and Annex 2 would be better in a spreadsheet on a shared drive.
I think Nidia might do some tinkering first (encouraged!).
Hi @mfasullo, the scoping doc link above should work (as I can’t post a doc here). If it’s still not working for you, maybe someone could put this in a dedicated sub-group drive?
It’s just a starter/primer doc to get us talking, with guesses at what might be an interesting focus without too much overlap wit the review Dirk has coming out (presumably including useful standards and protocols).
Hello! @nicholas.brereton, I am new to this working group. I also want to contribute for the paper. Therefore please guide me if there are any prior requirements to be fulfilled to work for this paper or simply anyone interested can contribute to it?
Hi @aninditam898,
This is just a draft scoping document (not a paper) at the moment, which will help guide some research for the group once discussed and further developed. I’m sure they’ll be opportunities planned out at the next meeting to help organise research contributions. Thanks!
