The European Space Agency’s (ESA) Exploration Science program, invites scientists to apply to the “Investigating Biological and Physical Effects of Radiation” (IBPER) activity, dedicated to advancing the knowledge needed to sustain extended human exploration missions.

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to undergo the scientific review process, applicants must be affiliated with recognized research institutions (such as universities, colleges, hospitals, and institutes) located in one of the Member States participating in ESA’s E3P program and may themselves apply to the E3P program. Participating countries include Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom. Scientists representing institutions from other ESA member states may participate in proposals as team members. Scientists representing institutions from ESA Member States that do not contribute to the E3P Programme and scientists from other European countries having a cooperation agreement with ESA (e.g. Cyprus, Malta, Slovakia) are encouraged to enquire with their national space organization about the conditions for their participation in proposals to ESA.
Furthermore, applicants will need to confirm that they have informed their national agency/delegation before submitting their proposal.
