Hello everyone. My name is Dirk Neefs, and I am the moderator of the Topical Team ESA on dental Guidelinesforastronautsonlong-termmissions. I am excited to announce that my team will be presenting at the upcoming International Astronautical Congress 2024 in Milan, Italy. Our presentation, titled “Dental Guidelines for Astronauts on Short- and Long-Term Missions: A Scoping Review,” will explore the vital role of dental care in space.
This review covers an analysis of papers sourced from archives and research databases to investigate how dental treatments have been managed in space missions up to now. We will also be outlining the guidelines that can be developed based on these past experiences to ensure the well-being of astronauts on both short- and long-duration missions.
Our multidisciplinary team consists of experts in dentistry and space medicine:
Gianluca Tartaglia
Massimo del Fabbro
Shahnawaz Khijmatgar
Ishita Singhal
Bart Vandberghe

We look forward to sharing our insights with the scientific community and contributing to the future of space health!
