Hello Hardware AWG Community,
As part of our ongoing work to strengthen the SPLASH hardware database and ensure broad community involvement, we are forming a SPLASH Content Subgroup and are seeking AWG members who are interested in contributing their expertise.
Purpose of the Subgroup
The Content Subgroup will focus on improving the completeness, accuracy, and traceability of instrument‑related information within SPLASH. Members will help evaluate existing entries, identify missing or under‑documented hardware, and provide recommendations or reference sources to support high‑quality content development.
How Members Will Contribute
Participants will be invited to “adopt” an instrument, or a related family of instruments, aligned with their area of expertise. Responsibilities may include:
• Reviewing relevant SPLASH records and assessing whether key information is present
• Identifying instruments or instrument providers that should be added
• Recommending documentation, links, or other authoritative resources
• Offering community oversight and subject‑matter feedback as SPLASH evolves
Why Your Participation Matters
The Hardware AWG plays a central role in guiding the development of the SPLASH hardware ecosystem. Your input ensures that community knowledge is accurately reflected, that gaps are surfaced early, and that the database grows in alignment with real scientific and operational needs.
How to Join
If you are interested in participating, please reply to this thread or send a direct message. We will also invite volunteers during upcoming Hardware AWG meetings.
Thank you for your time and for your ongoing contributions to the Hardware AWG. We look forward to collaborating with those who are interested in supporting this important effort.
