My Introduction - Tharun Kumar V

Welcome @TharunKumar2106 :waving_hand:

Make sure to spend time looking at all the data and tools to come up with new investigations. Looking at previous studies is quite useful too.

Previous work: NASA OSDR-GeneLab Enabled Publications, Pre-Prints, Student Theses - Google Scholar
Data dashboard (at a glance): NASA OSDR Biological Data and Visualization Portal
Search portal: NASA OSDR: Open Science for Life in Space
BioData API: https://visualization.osdr.nasa.gov/biodata/api/
Our code on GitHub: OpenScienceDataRepo · GitHub
These and all quick links to data/tools/APIs, etc are here: About - Open Science Data Repository Analysis Working Groups

Worth saying up front: OSDR holds space biology and health data, so exoplanet spectra sit outside what we host, ie outside the domain of our community, usually.

Thats said though, your skill set transfers directly  Damagescope is segmentation and classification on remote sensing imagery, and we have real bioimaging and microscopy data waiting for people who build end-to-end. Search the dashboard or portal for the imaging assays and see what you think. On the LLM side, take a look at the BioData API and the GitHub repos, since getting models to reason over study metadata is an open problem we care about.

For the AI/ML AWG, reach out to @vaishnavi.nagesh, @james.casaletto, introduce yourself, and get to the next monthly meeting. 2nd wednesday of the month, iirc

Pick a project from the master table and find the meeting on the calendar (log in first).

Cheers,
-Ryan
