As part of the SPLASH data standardization Project, we have 239 instruments standardized with the new schema (new schema linked here and explanation of the schema linked here). We have added the instruments curated by @adhvim’s Content Subgroup into this new spreadsheet.
We are seeking input from SMEs in Space Biology, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Instrument Hardware to help fill in any missing details. If you are interested, please respond to this forum post with your email so I can give you edit access, currently viewers only have comment access.

Below are points to explain this massive sheet and task
- Each of the columns refer to a parameter in the SPLASH Data Standardization schema spreadsheet with the option for each parameter either being True/False/Blank (aka Yes/No/Unknown), A predefined value as defined in the sheet, an integer/float value, or a free-text (mainly used in any notes section).
- Blank values are automatically highlighted in yellow. Once a cell is filled out it will automatically change to white. When a column is fully filled out, it will turn green.
- Feel free to review existing information and add comments/make edits if there is inaccurate information.
- Other than required fields, we hope to have as much information filled out but if there is no information available a parameter of an instrument, leave it blank.
- Any links used for research should be added to the links column (All the way at the end of the sheet)
- If you find useful information for an instrument but cannot find the perfect place for it (or the schema does not allow), please use the notes columns (the columns that end with “_notes”).
