New preprint: Building AI-Ready Data Systems for Space Biology

Excited to share a new article, “Building AI-Ready Data Systems for Space Life Sciences, Aerospace Medicine, and Deep Space Exploration.”

We argue that scientific data must evolve along a continuum: from FAIR, to AI-ready, to ultimately space-ready. To get there, we propose a three-tier framework and lay out the infrastructure it demands—standardized metadata, provenance, knowledge graphs, agent-accessible interfaces, and privacy-preserving federated learning. Together, these turn today’s repositories into interoperable, machine-actionable resources built for the constraints of future space missions.

Grateful to all co-authors for their expertise and collaboration along the way.
