Another application of my method for detecting brain states.
This time, I show that it’s possible to predict mental arithmetic performance from resting-state EEG’s, before the arithmetic task even begins.
At the AWG Annual Meeting 2025, I also presented how this approach could potentially be applied to identifying brain states relevant to space exploration. Mental arithmetic is just one example of a cognitive ability, but the broader goal is to characterize brain states both on Earth and in space. With EEG data, it might even be possible to identify conditions such as SANS or other brain states.
