Hello AWG!
We are pleased to invite you to the webinar hosted by our newly inaugurated Space Institute, Space Front, at USFQ in Quito, Ecuador. This event will feature Afshin Beheshti @AfshinBeheshti , professor at the School of Medicine, director of the Space Biomedicine Program, and associate director of the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Afshin will share how international efforts, including our Working Group, have created a key research synergy in understanding health changes in astronauts and how to preserve their well-being.
This webinar will highlight the latest advances in understanding the biological changes experienced by space explorers and how space medicine can contribute to maintaining the health of future astronauts.
The event will be moderated by Verónica Castañeda @vcastaneda , a Biotechnology student at USFQ and Ph.D. candidate in Biomedicine in Chile, and myself, professor of Medicine at USFQ. We are both part of international initiatives promoting the creation of a global ecosystem based on the Artemis Accords for space exploration.
