Clinical Decision Support System for Earth-independent Medical Operations
And some current NASA medical frameworks as well . Exploration Medical Capability (ExMC) – defines what level of care must be possible on a mission
Integrated Medical Model (IMM) – models likelihood, resource use, and outcomes
Space Flight Medical Operations Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) – the actual treatment protocols. Please tell me if I am missing the point but your idea seems to bring all of these together into a system to monitor identify and manage all of these.
I have been researching around prototype development of Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) for spaceflight, building on the strong overlap of interests in our group around CDSS in space, systems engineering, and agentic AI.
I’m currently working in the same domain—particularly on AI agent development—and I’ve been exploring how virtual cell models could be leveraged as part of a digital twin framework to support aging and long-duration health research in space environments. This project feels like a natural next step in that direction.
I’d love to share this proposal during an upcoming meeting, and I’m hoping to contribute in a meaningful way to the subgroup’s direction and early development.
At the moment, I’m reviewing the existing work, including the LunarAgent repository: https://github.com/michael-olufemi/LunarAgent
and related prior efforts in the same area, to better understand what we can reuse and build on.
I would love to participate in this project! I’m working on a similar system specifically for an exercise-countermeasure decision-support system for my master’s thesis. I’m a systems engineer (not an AI expert), but I would love to contribute in any way I can!
Hi all - thank you for all your interest!!! I’ll be scheduling our first meeting soon. If you haven’t already, please indicate your availability here: First CDSS Subgroup Meeting - When2meet
If you missed the first meeting, I recommend reading the agenda here, as it clarifies many aspects of the goals of CDSS.
Also, if you would like to contribute more or have specific skills (such as literature review, scientific writing, visualization, coding, etc.), please feel free to add your name to this sheet.
I think it would be great to start sharing ideas here in the forum. We have momentum, but we need some direction to get started, so don’t hesitate to share your ideas or project proposals here
Hi! Sorry that I could not attend. The meeting is during my school hours However I will definitely be very involved. Is it possible to meet any other time?
We have meetings every two weeks, and the next one is on 13 March.
To catch up on the concepts introduced in the first meeting, you can check the CDSS meeting notes in the Docs file I sent in the previous message here.
See you
In our next CDSS meeting, we will focus on further refining the goals for the subgroup. We will also begin distributing work among interested members so we can move forward effectively.
Please make sure to join the upcoming meeting!
In the meantime, if you have any interesting ideas or potential research studies related to this topic, feel free to share them on the forum or through a Word document.
Those who are interested in participating in the CDSS subgroup and contributing to the work are requested to add their details to the Excel sheet. Please also mention the role you are interested in and provide a brief background about yourself.
Everyone is also encouraged to share the latest paper findings and any ideas you have for the subgroup.
