Hello from Ecuador – Ready to Collaborate!

Hi everyone! I’m A. Ricardo G. Plasencia from Ecuador :ecuador: — a software engineer, university professor, and researcher. I currently serve as Director of Information Technologies at PUCESE University and lead Overseer Investigation Center, a research and innovation lab focused on artificial intelligence, gamification, and educational technology.

I’m passionate about using data, creativity, and emerging technologies to build solutions that help underserved communities, especially in the fields of education and health.

I’m truly excited to join the AWG and contribute across the various working groups. Looking forward to collaborating with brilliant minds and sharing an Ecuadorian perspective in this global open science community! :rocket:

:rocket: Hey team! Let’s get Ecuador on the map of regions! :globe_showing_americas: I’d be proud to represent and bring some South American energy to the AWG community! :ecuador::light_bulb:

Welcome @raizo2000

In Ecuador, do you know @acaicedo ? He is at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito

Him and his lab have been part of the AWG for at least a couple years now, and super involved in the @MultiOmicsAWG

Definitely you two should connect - cheers! :tada::rocket::100:

Also, he gave a talk on his work connected to Mitochondria at the 2024 AWG symposium

I don’t know him personally — I’m actually on the other side of the country from where he is, but it would be amazing to connect! It’s always exciting to meet others working on space and science from Ecuador! :rocket::ecuador:

Perfecto!

Have you attended the Multi-Omics AWG led by @AfshinBeheshti and the communications coordinator @jessicadurbano ?

They are meeting this next Wednesday

Hope to hear you introduce yourself there!

Maybe @acaicedo will also attend too :rocket:
