Isaac Asimov Asks, “How Do People Get New Ideas?” - 1959

Was reminded about this article by Isaac Asimov this morning, thought AWG members should know of it.

The focus is on where new ideas come from, and how creativity for discovery comes about.

I was reminded reflecting how the plant-nutrition-gut-human sub-group came about and synthesized evidence. Open science for the win :rocket: :rocket: :confetti_ball:

I really enjoy and agree with that concept…

  1. You need both the individual effort - unfettered by others opinions, or social critiques, to be free exploratory, and “out there” thinking

AND

  1. You need that collaborative environment - you know something A, I know something B, and together we can come up with something idea C - which otherwise would not have occurred to either independently
