Hello Community,
See areas of interest below (genomics with biotech AI, space food, sustainable food)
- looking forward to speaking with you!
I am writing to provide some introductory information about myself and my company’s/lab’s work in case anyone sees synergy and overlap and would want to speak with me about collaboration.
Funding and collaboration with NASA is a very high priority and would be a game changer for our startup and scaling up our sustainable innovations for the moon, Mars and beyond (we had successful DARPA projects in the past, so can leverage those SBIR Phase II’s for follow up collaboration with NASA).
The areas of interest are:
- genomics (sequencing the genomes of all insect species on Earth and using the data for biotech and AI, and CRISPR gene editing of farmed species) - this could overlap nicely with plant based genomics projects/initiatives,
- developing comprehensive food and agricultural systems focused on leveraging the impressive biological and protein production capacity of farm raised insect species (we have already done a lot of conceptual work on this), and
- exploring less common / unusual or exotic fruit species for food security and production on Lunar and Martian stations (we plan to turn the exotic fruit concept into a business when we relocate to Florida).
- Personally, I am in critical need of income to support my family while I try (if possible) to get my company and career back off the ground. Anyone willing to speak to me about potential opportunities is greatly appreciated. We plan to relocate to Florida as soon as possible, so this may offer some additional opportunities to collaborate given the substantial space and biosciences ecosystem there.
Also, some about my nonprofit and for profit company:
Nonprofit Invertebrate Studies Institute (ISI): Seeks to, among other things, sequence the genomes of all insect species on Earth, use the data to train biotech AI systems and also engage in use of this data, and traditional natural products techniques, for insect based drug discovery (more about ISI below).
All Things Bugs LLC (where most of my work and success has been for the past 14 years, seeking investors and opportunities to find investment and scale up our commercial innovations in addition to continuing cutting edge research) - ACTIVELY SEEKING INVESTORS - we are ready to launch new products immediately when funded:
I am Dr. Aaron T. Dossey, President, Founder and Owner of All Things Bugs LLC (ATB). We are seeking investment and opportunities to scale and further commercialize our innovations as well as collaborations and other types of partnerships.
I am also particularly interested in developing technologies for food production in space / moon / Mars and plan to move to Florida in a year or so.
Founded in 2011, ATB, the world’s first wholesaler of insect based ingredients and industry leader/pioneer, develops sustainable, eco-friendly technologies from insects to improve food security and health. No other firm can match the depth and breadth of our experience and areas of innovation. ATB capitalizes on this Low-Crawling Fruit through research, products, and services in 4 key areas: 1) Manufacturing the highest quality cricket powder in the industry using our patented spray drying process, 2) Food product development, 3) Insect Processing and Ingredients, 4) Cutting Edge Insect Farming Automation and 5) Insect Genomics and Genetic Engineering.
Insects are the most sustainable protein source on the planet, beating out other animal and even plant protein sources! The insect protein industry is entering an exponential phase of growth with major players entering the field. As the world’s first wholesale of insect based ingredients, and one of the first companies in this space in the world, ATB is at the forefront of the rapidly growing movement for more sustainable sources of food, protein and other bioproducts. We have patents (US, Canada, Mexico and Europe)(probably followed by South Africa and Thailand), product on the market since 2013, 12+ years of R&D (over $5 million in research/SBIR funding), 20+ years of scientific research experience. Founder Dr. Aaron T. Dossey published the first text book on the field. We have a business plan and pitch decks available (see attached). We are the world’s leading biotech firm in the sustainable food, alternative protein and insect protein space. We are seeking investment and strategic partnerships/joint ventures with major food brands as well as collaboration with NGOs as well as consulting, contract and other commercial collaborative partnership opportunities. We have had serious and very promising and recent conversations with Pepsico, Nestle, Bimbo, General Mills among others.

More on ISI:
Our mission is to increase conservation efforts and enhance public and political knowledge and support towards conservation, sustainability and responsible scientific research. Read on – we’ve so much to share!
IMAGINE: A biodome featuring exotic plants and invertebrates from around the world. A Bug zoo - the “Jurassic Park” of bugs! An immersive experience where biotech science, biodiversity, entertainment, conservation and education come together under one roof.
Founded as a nonprofit in 2018 and born out of Dr. Aaron T. Dossey’s Biochemistry and biomedical science background and passion for insects, science and the natural world**,** Invertebrate Studies Institute’s (ISI) mission is to inspire appreciation for and conservation of the natural world. We plan to build the world’s largest Biodome: an immersive combination education, entertainment and biotech research facility venue.
Combining cutting edge biotech research, education and entertainment in one facility makes us unique - exploring the largest yet least explored element of our biosphere: Class Insecta. With millions of species, insects make up a vast majority of life on Earth, providing ecological services, including pollination and nutrient cycling, yet are vastly overlooked sources of new life saving drugs, protein, nutrients and other bioresources for humans. Our research activities also include bioprospecting from invertebrates to discover new drug lead compounds as well as using the latest cutting-edge genomics technologies to sequence the genomes of all insect species on Earth.
Imagine: For far less than what Elon Musk paid for Twitter, we could sequence the genomes of all insect species on Earth - a majority of life on Earth! Even ¼ of that funding would be enough to also build our Biodome and biotech facility. Once in operation, our facility could sequence all the other plant and animal species – providing the biological blueprint of all life on Earth for a fraction of the price of a social media platform! This would be the single greatest contribution to science in history, enabling substantial new scientific research and discoveries previously impossible.
Our educational programs will feature giant live exotic insects, plants and invertebrates from around the world – the world’s largest Insect Zoo! An immersive experience learning about science, chemistry and biodiversity through in person, real-time, hands-on education. Think “Jurassic Park” but with bugs! The public will be able to see thousands of species of invertebrates, plants and other organisms. Our scientists will be directly engaged with the public via presentations, events, “BugFest”, science fairs and designing all educational displays. The facility will efficiently leverage synergy between the massive public education and entertainment biodome venue as a working laboratory for research, with the public witnessing real time biological research being conducted. Additionally, the venue will also function as a resource for other conferences, events, rentable lab space and use by other organizations such as films and the entertainment industry, generating additional revenue. It will truly be a crown jewel for its host city!
Conservation is the core value driving all of these activities: we wish to demonstrate the value of all life on Earth so the public is inspired to assure nature is not only able to survive, but thrive.
ISI strongly believes that if the public of all ages can be exposed to the wonders of invertebrate biodiversity on earth through research and a truly comprehensive picture of earth’s interconnected biodiversity, people will be inspired and motivated to push for strong, robust and long-lasting measures to restore and protect our natural world.
You can find out more about ISI at our website https://isibugs.org/ and more about our founder Dr. Aaron T Dossey and his incredible life’s work as a scientist entrepreneur. We hope we’ve piqued your curiosity and would love to strike up a conversation.
Looking forward to speaking with you and team/company/agency/department/lab soon.
Have a great day!
