Friendly monthly Animal AWG meeting reminder - Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22nd from 12 to 1 pm EST
Dr. Candice Tahimic is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Florida. Current topics of investigation in her lab include understanding the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular adaptations to spaceflight with a focus on mitochondrial signaling.
Her talk will cover the long-term impact of simulated GCR exposure on molecular signatures of the heart. Collectively, the findings that will be presented will highlight the potential for delayed, sex-specific cardiovascular risks following space radiation exposure, emphasizing the need to incorporate sex and dose considerations into risk assessment for deep space missions.
See you there!
