Thank you. I got access

Dear all,

Thank you for requesting access to the repository—it means a lot. In today’s meeting, we’ll go over how to clone the repo and create structured pull requests once access is granted. Apologies for being off the radar and missing earlier posts.

For today, there’s no need to install anything. However, I’d recommend setting up Git and VS Code in the coming days for anyone interested in contributing to development.

All the best - Felipe

Hi Liam and team - I messaged you but it may not have gone through, so I’ll just put my username here in that case: @SkylerSG

Looking forward to working on this project with everyone!

Sweet Skyler - is this your GHub username?

Yup, SkylerSG should work ( SkylerSG (Skyler SG) · GitHub )

For reference, when is today’s meeting? I can’t see anything on the calendar.

Great question:

Over here! Time is (2:30 Pacific)

I’m glad to see so much interest in our project! If you haven’t already, I strongly recommend joining our mailing list and becoming part of the subgroup. Even if you can’t attend meetings, its a way to coordinate, access shared resources, and stay up to date on development progress.

Thank you, Happy learning for me !!!. Yesterday I went through the codes in the shared file from git hub, CNN-sandbox.ipynb. Could understand a small fraction of it. I have used Tensorflow for minimal learning. But it’s interesting for me, and I will be a learner in this group for the time being. Thank you.

Hey there! - I had to miss today’s meeting due to a prior commitment. Is there a recording/meeting minutes file that I could access, especially since I am established in the data/code portion of this project?

I’m not sure if someone recorded it, but - if it’s helpful - we went over basic Git/GitHub commands and some architecture ideas (moving the current repo → organization), as well as moving over to Slack (check mailing list) for better comms. If you know the repo already, I don’t think there’s much besides that repo movement that will (I assume) take place sometime soon.

There was also some small discussion on data size, given most members don’t have the space or compute to pull the full set for training. I don’t think there’s a complete solution worked out on that front

Great addition, @ssolomongavin!

Good news, everyone — the organization repo is now public and ready to go. For the moment, both @ssolomongavin @liamfj17 and I are the leads approving PRs, though more approvers will be added soon since I’m a bit pressed for time today.

The best part: you can now fork and try things out without running into any permission roadblocks. :rocket:

Thank you all for the support in getting us to this point and helping set up the GitHub organization!

Apologies for the confusion! Our regular meeting time is set but we have not been holding them regularly. Instead, once enough progress happens that we are ready to meet, either myself or our subgroup coordinator will send out notifications/post in advance. As things get rolling we will hopefully switch to more regular meetings, but for now it’s as the need arises.

Hello I am intrested to join

Hi @liamfj17 @lauren.sanders , I’d love to join. Already filled out the Subgroup interest form. I’m not sure I’ll be able to attend meetings though, as they are being held in the middle of the night for me. What’s the quickest way to get up to speed?
