Reviewers Requested for Doppler Ultrasonography Assay Metadata

We are in need of Subject Matter Experts to review the draft of the metadata table for the Doppler Ultrasonography Assay.

Please refer to this FAQ document which explains what these assay metadata drafts are, and how to provide feedback on them. We have separate metadata templates to capture sample-level information, such as subject and sample background/treatments/independent variables, therefore the focus of the assay metadata is on experiment procedures beyond sample prep. Once we get feedback from at least 3 SMEs, then the draft is turned into a configuration in our repo, where it can be used to collect metadata for the studies we host at OSDR. These assay configurations can be modified at any time as well, if we receive feedback later about changes that should be made, so please feel free to also take a look at any of the configs in this list, not just those at the bottom that are not yet in our system.

We also have FAQs and tutorials in the ‘Help’ section at the top right of the OSDR site, which explains a bit more about the overall submission process, if you are curious about how these fit into the larger context.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out here, or via email at rachel.r.gilbert@nasa.gov

Anyone have ideas on doppler ultrasonography

Maybe, if I understand the technology right then I can see it’s use with detecting different health problems. Perhaps the speed of blood, the direction it’s detecting, and other aspects could determine symptoms noticed in blood from health problems before they become a proplem. I can see that being valuable in detecting cancer, obesity, and any blood based pathogens based off of their effects on the blood. Though I can’t say micro biology is my expertice, this is more of a side view idea than anything. I hope it helps though, this would be my first post.

When do you need something by?

Have performed Doppler to detect foetal stress in utero, but not enough to be an SME.

Yes sir, I’ve looked into Doppler ultrasonography before. It is a non-invasive medical test that uses sound waves to create images and check how blood flows through blood vessels. It helps doctors see if there are blockages, clots, or poor blood flow in arteries or veins. It’s commonly used in cardiology, neurology, and obstetrics. Are you exploring it for any specific application or study?

Same, clinically focused usage. Can review if helpful

Clinically relevant!
I can try

I’d be available to learn. I didn’t even know an Assay Metadata Configuration file existed before your excellent documentation.

Obgyn Doppler and ultrasound experience. Is this tissue specific ultrasound use or general Doppler index questions? @rachelrgilbert

We try to make the metadata table as broadly applicable as we can, without it getting too bogged down with parameters or being too difficult to categorize in a consistent ontological method. So I would say that approach it as if it could be used for any study design or clinical application utilizing Doppler ultrasound technology. Basically what is the assay technological and methodological information would you need to consider a data set repeatable or reusable? That can also include suggesting the removal of information that you feel isn’t really relevant to those aspects.
