Very interesting. How do they measure their hormone level in space? (what is the diagnostic approach? immunoassay? real-time analysis?)

On Earth: Method: Elisa. Specific days to measure for clinical purposes. For research questions additional data points can be added.

ELISA, like other types of immunoassays, relies on antibodies to detect a target antigen using highly specific antibody-antigen interactions. Enzyme conjugation with substrates that produce visible products are being used to get results that can be interpreted visually. My question is- if we don’t know how radiation and gravity change are affecting the interaction with the target antigen (hormones in our case) and if we don’t know how the conditions in space effect the enzyme conjugation, how can we rely on the Elisa analysis results?
