Friendly reminder tomorrow Wednesday Jan. 29th monthly @AnimalAWG meeting (noon-1:30pm EST). This is the first AnimalAWG meeting of the year.
Presentation by June Loukinas, under the mentorship of Ms. Geizi Dejka (GL4HS), is a high school student at San Juan College High School in New Mexico who is interested in the effects of altered gravity conditions on Drosophila larvae and development. June is conducting a study to compare genetic and phenotypic changes that may occur under hypergravity conditions using a centrifuge and analogs to microgravity using a random positioning machine and discuss the progress of her study at tomorrow’s meeting.
GeneLab for High Schools (GL4HS) is a summer program designed to introduce high school students and teachers to the field of space biosciences. The program aims to engage participants in space biology research, create resources to share knowledge in the field, and develop professional networks that encourage collaboration.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
