Multi-Omics AWG – Leadership Update, Opportunities, and Upcoming Activities

Dear Multi-Omics AWG Members, @MultiOmicsAWG

I hope you are all doing well.

I’m pleased to share an update regarding the leadership of the working group. I’ will now also serve as Co-Lead of the Multi-Omics AWG alongside Afshin Beheshti.

For any inquiries, proposals, or if you are interested in presenting at upcoming meetings, please feel free to reach out directly:

As a reminder, you can explore ongoing projects and opportunities to get involved through the OSDR portal here:

We also invite anyone who would like their profile to be shared with the broader AWG community to send the following details to me:

  • LinkedIn URL

  • X (Twitter) profile

  • Picture

  • Short bio

Additionally, an important annual conference is coming up. We encourage members to consider submitting an abstract or attending as participants, as it represents an excellent opportunity to share work and engage with the broader community. 2026 – Crystal City, VA – ASGSR

We would also like to highlight the Trivedi Institute for Space and Global Biomedicine at the University of Pittsburgh:
https://trivedi.pitt.edu/. The institute focuses on how space conditions—such as microgravity and radiation—impact human biology, with the goal of improving understanding of disease mechanisms and accelerating the development of medical therapies on Earth. Its research spans genomics, systems biology, disease modelling, and the development of technologies for low-resource and extreme environments. Afshin Beheshti serves as Director of the Center for Space Biomedicine within the institute. In addition to research, the institute supports interdisciplinary training for scientists, clinicians, and engineers, emphasizing translation of discoveries into real-world healthcare applications through collaboration and hands-on research opportunities.

We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting in June.

Thank you all for your continued engagement and collaboration.

@AfshinBeheshti
