OSDR Regolith AWG Meeting 9/16

Howdy @RegolithAWG ,

Tomorrow is the September Regolith AWG meeting. It will start at 11:00 AM (Chicago). Links are attached below.

This meeting, Dr. Richard Barker will give an overview of his regolith/hydroponics system setup. Dr. Barker seeks to determine whether hydroponic- and regolith-based lunar agriculture aren’t mutually exclusive and argues that we need new science and technology related to both. He will present some models concerning system mass, lifecycle economics, technology readiness level maturation, and more! Come with your ideas and questions; this will surely be an interesting discussion.

Additionally, we had an excellent discussion last meeting on the development of a life support framework for Mars. Many of you have updated the Google Docs file over the past month. Thank you all. As NASA has released candidate sites for Mars missions, our purpose has shifted so that we seek to evaluate NASA candidate landing sites for their suitability for regolith based agriculture rather than the whole surface.

We are still in the brainstorming phase, so bring your ideas!

See you all soon!

Thanks,

Aenghus
