Presidential AI Challenge

This was passed along by a colleague in DC.

I received permission to share flyers about the Presidential AI Challenge. I’m attaching the three flyers here. There is a general overview flyer (fact sheet), a flyer for educators who may wish to enter the challenge and another for students who are interested in entering the challenge.

There are a lot of resources on the challenge website to help teams along the way. Amazon is hosting webinars throughout the year to assist student teams and educator teams. There are also weekly office hours staffed by volunteers who have expertise in AI. So I want to emphasize that even if a teacher or team doesn’t feel confident in their AI knowledge or abilities, there is help available along the way. The main thing is for the students to identify an issue in their community that needs to be solved (see these guiding questions as examples to help identify local problems). Then the teams can work across the next few months with the optional help of the resources to try to determine how AI might be able to solve the particular problem.

Please feel free to share these flyers and the information in this email with your teacher and K-12 student network. Thank you for your help!

Thank you so much for sharing!

Based on the eligibility requirements, Tracks I and II accept submissions from teams composed of up to 4 high school students and 1 supervising adult.

Here’s a link to the Official Rules including Eligibility

If there are any high school students in the AWG who are interested in joining this AI Challenge, please post here! I can serve as the supervising adult and we can form one or more teams.
