Hello everyone,
I’m Ariel Braverman from Ben Gurion University, and I’m excited to join the group!
I’m a registered nurse, paramedic, and PhD candidate in Human Factors in Healthcare. In addition to my clinical background, I have a strong background in aviation and engineering (it’s a long story:-)), which has shaped my interest in applying systems engineering and human factors principles to healthcare. My research focuses on the future of healthcare for exploration missions beyond low Earth orbit, particularly the Moon and Mars.
I’m interested in how clinical and epidemiological data can be used to build in silico models of healthcare systems, providing an evidence-based framework for designing and evaluating future autonomous, robotic, and AI-enabled medical capabilities. Rather than modeling individual diseases, my goal is to model healthcare itself: patient trajectories, healthcare processes, decision-making, and system requirements, to understand better what future autonomous medical systems will need to do before they’re ever deployed.
I’ve already developed several preliminary computational models in this area and am currently expanding this research toward more comprehensive system-level simulations. I’d be very interested in connecting with others working on computational physiology, digital twins, in silico medicine, epidemiological modeling, or related areas, and I would welcome opportunities for collaboration.
