New AWG Subgroup Announcement: NBISC100 RR-10 Kidney

Kaavya and I will be announcing a new sub-group at the next Animal AWG meeting on Wednesday February 26th from 9am - 1030am PT.

NBISC100 RR-10 Kidney AWG Subgroup

Description/Purpose:
Compare data generated with the mRNA (UPX and mRNA kits) and ribodepletion methods used in the NBISC100, Kidney RR-10, and similar studies. Ultimately, there are three primary goals of this analysis:

  • To determine the efficacy of the UPX kit as a potential sequencing method, by comparing its findings with those of the other methods from similar tissues/experiments.

  • To utilize OSDR resources, such as the multi-study visualization platform to generate manuscript-ready figures.

  • To evaluate the effect of spaceflight on gene expression in mouse Gastrocnemius, Spleen, Thymys, and Kidney tissues

    • and to determine the reproducibility of the spaceflight effects using the different preparation methods evaluated.

If you are interested in joining this subgroup, please attend the next Animal AWG monthly meeting to learn more.

Hi,

My name is Charley Naney and I’m a Bioscience PhD student and I would like to listen in to the chat today in case there’s an opportunity to learn. You mentioned in notes you were currently looking at effects of Spaceflight on mouse different tissues (liver), and this would be especially helpful for me to learn more about right now. I also realized it’s meeting time now so if you can’t add me until next month I totally understand.

Thank you!

Best,
Charley

Hi @ccnaney,
Thanks for your interest in the subgroup. I’ll be sending out a poll via e-mail to assess people’s availability for a recurring monthly meeting.
