Virus reactivation subgroup of Brain AWG

Dear OSDR community,

Within the Brain AWG, we have established a Virus Reactivation Subgroup focused on omics analyses to investigate viral reactivation in spaceflight and neurodegenerative contexts.

We meet every second Wednesday (next meeting: March 4th) at 8:00 AM PST (11:00 AM EST; 5:00 PM CET).

Currently, we are working on two manuscripts:

  1. The development of a virology pipeline designed to detect and characterize viruses from diverse omics datasets.

  2. An application study using this tool to detect and quantify viral reactivation in astronauts and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients.

We welcome collaborators interested in virology, bioinformatics, space biology, neurodegeneration, and systems biology approaches.
